About Us
About CASA
The First Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is a private, non-profit organization founded in 2001. It began as a "Steering Committee" from the Davison County Child Protection Team in 2000. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure all children thrive within the safe embrace of a loving home. However, as our friends and supporters, you don't get the opportunity to share the connection with the children that we do. You won't read or hear about their names and stories in the paper or on the local news. You may not know that 45 CASA volunteers were a voice for 85 children last year.
At CASA, children don't just enter the program and leave; they become part of a dedicated team that ensures their safety and well-being. Our volunteers go above and beyond to support children in various ways. They ensure the children excel in school by providing homework assistance and attending educational meetings. Foster parents find reassurance in knowing they're not alone; they can rely on & call our dedicated advocates for support and guidance during challenging times. Additionally, when biological parents are striving to reunite with their children, our CASAs work tirelessly to support them through the process and connect them with essential services for success.
The CASA Long Story
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to ensure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every abused and/or neglected child by providing a trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system.
AT CASA, WE VALUE
- Accountability: CASA's Board, Executive Director, and staff are committed to taking responsibility for fulfilling our mission. We aim to foster teamwork with stakeholders, including the state government, court system, community, and donors. This collaboration underscores our commitment to accountable, honest, and dependable program practices and the responsible expenditure of funds.
- Compassion: CASA shows compassionate concern for the sufferings and misfortunes experienced by abused and neglected children.
- Resilience: Children demonstrate resilience by surviving misfortune and even tragedy. Volunteer advocates showcase resilience by consistently returning to stand alongside children, especially in challenging circumstances. As an organization, CASA has displayed resilience by navigating through tough times and emerging as a financially strong non-profit led by a professional and committed Board of Directors and Executive Director.
